If you are interested in becoming a Vincentian, please stop by the Center for an application to fill out. Once the completed application is returned a background check will be performed. If you are a good fit for us, we will contact you to invite you to a new volunteer orientation. As an organization made up almost entirely of volunteers, we rely on the help of volunteers for every aspect of operations. A few volunteer positions include:
Drivers – Pick up the weekly order at the NH Food Bank on Mondays and donations at Hannaford on Fridays. Drivers must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Stockers – Sort meat, produce, pastries, and bread donations from Hannaford four mornings a week and on Thursday afternoons. Stockers are also able to sort and shelve nonperishable food items from food drives and donations. Stockers should be physically flexible and able to lift 25 pounds.
Food Pantry – Volunteers come on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays during the evening and Wednesdays and Fridays in the afternoon. We also have a Seniors Pantry the fourth Thursday of the month in the morning. Must be able to pack bags, lift and move food items and be able to stand for approximately 1.5 hours.
Team Leaders – Team Leaders are needed for each Food Pantry session. They are responsible for overseeing the session, coordinating the volunteers, and assisting with clients as they check in.
Advocates – A pair of advocates will meet with clients who have requested emergency financial assistance. The volunteers are to walk the clients through their monthly income/expenses to assist with budget resolution. At the conclusion, the volunteers determine if the clients are eligible for financial assistance.
Please note, to protect the dignity of our clients we can only accept volunteers that are 18 years of age or older or out of High School.
All volunteers – Must be able to pack bags, lift and move food items and be able for stand for approximately 1.5 hours and work independently.
