Volunteering with SVdP
Please contact us if you are interested in serving people – that’s what we do. Most of our volunteers work in our Food Pantry (See Services for our Food Pantry times) filling food orders for clients who visit monthly. You could donate your time in coaching, counseling, guiding people in crisis especially if you have a special human services type skill or knowledge of a particular kind of program. We are always looking for help in the office too to drive our van, pick up donations, answer phones, make calls, do some writing, graphics design, special projects. More hands make light work. Special Notice: October 2009 – The Search continues…
We are in need of at least one additional person to help during the day (generally one morning per week) in the Food Pantry. Recently we added a second shift on Wednesdays to sort food and rotate stock mid-week as our pantry has become extremely active as of late. We have “crews” of volunteers to help for an hour or so Monday or Wednesday mornings. Give us a call at 772-3916 Ext 15 and tell us if you’d like to find out more about this valued postion and become part of the Sorting & Stocking Team. Thanks!
Special Notice II – October 2009 – Are you a programmer? We need to talk about this critical need…
We are seeking to engage one or two people to help out with a new web based database program that needs to be built. Some of the requirements are: This will be an RDBMs system, web based application, must be written in open-source (meaning it’s free) for example, MySQL or Oracle-LE. This would be perfect for a technical school or college project for someone in the Computer Sciences field. If you’d like to learn more about it, call us at 603-772-3916 Ext 15. Thanks!
